Who you are dealing with. Crate is crate.events and app.crate.events, operated by Waybound Strategies LLC, an Oregon company. Using either site means you accept what is on this page. If you don’t, don’t use it. Questions go to mike@wayboundstrategies.com. How we handle your information is a separate page: Privacy.

Who can use it

You must be at least 13. Crate is not for children under 13 — the same age the privacy page states.

What Crate does, and what it does not

Crate turns a reel into a sighting — whatever the reel names: a show with its date, venue and ticket link, a place with the dish someone went for, a book with its author, a warm-up playlist when there is music — and lets you keep the ones you want. It is not a ticket seller. Tickets are bought from Ticketmaster, Etix or whoever the promoter uses, under their terms, and any refund, cancellation or entry dispute is between you and them. Crate never handles a payment and never holds your money.

Posters and fans

Two kinds of account. Posters publish sightings: you decide what to stage, what to bind to it and when to retire it, and you are responsible for having the right to post what you post. Fans grab sightings: the playlist Crate makes lands in your own Spotify library and is yours. A poster sees how many people grabbed a sighting and how many kept it, never who they are.

Using it the way it was built

One reel at a time, started by a person. Do not script it, crawl it, or point it at accounts in bulk. Do not use Crate to post anything you do not have the rights to, and do not use it to harass anyone.

If you are named on a page

Crate’s pages name artists, venues and the creators of public reels. If you are named and want off, email mike@wayboundstrategies.com and we take you off and keep a record so the next run does not put you back. If you believe something on Crate infringes your copyright, write to the same address with the work, the page, and how to reach you, and we will remove it or tell you why not. Accounts that repeatedly post infringing material are closed.

Connected accounts

Google, Instagram and Spotify are connected by you and disconnected by you, in their own settings or by asking us. Their terms govern their services. Spotify is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you directly. Crate is not endorsed by, sponsored by or affiliated with Spotify, Instagram, Meta or Google.

Affiliate links

Some ticket links on Crate may earn a commission, and where they do the page says so next to the link. The price you pay is the same either way. A poster’s own affiliate code always rides their own sightings’ links ahead of ours.

No warranty

Crate is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we expressly disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. We do not promise the site is uninterrupted or error-free, or that a playlist, a date, a venue or a ticket link is accurate — a sighting is read off someone’s reel, and reels are wrong sometimes. Check the date with the venue before you drive anywhere.

Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Waybound Strategies LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or a show you missed. Some states do not allow these limits, in which case they apply as far as that state allows.

Ending it

You can stop using Crate whenever you like and ask us to delete your data — the privacy page says how, and how long each part takes. We can close an account that breaks these terms. Retiring a sighting takes its public page down.

Changes, and the law that applies

When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it; carrying on using Crate after that is accepting the new version. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, and any dispute belongs in the state or federal courts sitting in Oregon.
